We have two useful software from Novacast in Sweden, to help the
foundryman improve casting defects, and then we can get the best
casting quality and save money due to less of casting rejects.
The first software is ATAS
ATAS® (Adaptive Thermal Analysis System) is an innovative system
for process-control of grey and ductile iron. It is based on advanced
thermal analysis combined with artificial intelligence technology and
allows the foundry to reduce casting defects, improve yield and reduce
variations in physical properties. It is also a great tool for increasing
metallurgical competence

The second software is Novaflow
NovaFlow & Solid CV simulates most of the casting methods on the
market such as: Gravity sand casting, gravity permanent mould, low
pressure die casting, high pressure die casting, lost wax method,
tilt pouring and lost foam process. All commercial alloys can be
simulated such as: grey- and ductile iron, steel, aluminium alloys,
copper-, zinc-, magnesium-based alloys, super alloys and all types of
mould and core materials that exist on the market and also exothermic
materials as well as chills.
Simulations visualise the consequences of a certain design of gating
system and moulds. Casting defects such as oxide inclusions due to
excessive turbulence, cold-shuts, shrinkage cavities and slag inclusions
can be avoided by optimising the design of the gating and venting system.
We have the engineering service team to serve on the application of
ATAS at customer site; through we can use the ATAS for
1. To analysis the quality of base metal (metal in the furnace
before tapping)
2. To test and compare the effective of each inoculant
3. To test and compare the effective of each Fe-Si-Mg
4. To control the casting process like a tool to control the casting
quality, this application need the time to collect the data base.

1. Casting design for optimized runner and gating system
2. Casting design to improve the casting defects such as shrinkage,
gas and slag inclusions etc.
3. Improve the riser design and get optimized riser size to save the money
