                In the production of big size casting, which have to use complicated runner and gating system as well as taking long time to fill in whole mold cavity.  Consequently, it will have a high risk from metal erosion where mainly occur at sprue, runner and gating area.  Presently, the ceramic sleeves that have the variety designs and sizes are used to solve the aforementioned problem.  Pine-Pacific Corporation has cooperated with Toei Co., Ltd., who is the manufacturer of ceramic sleeve from Japan, which the product from Toei has a variety of design, size and quality of the materials.  The material that has high silica content is suitable for the grey cast iron, which is able to resist to the pouring temperature.  It also will have the good insulation property, which also can be cut to the desired length and form.  The ceramic sleeve from Toei has low moisture content because it was fired at high temperature, which subsequently can reduce the problem of gas defect.  The chemical content are shown as follows.
