In the production of casting by green sand mold, especially a large and complicate mold, if the surface of the sand mold that contact to the molten metal have a low strength or too low moisture content, there might be a problem on sand drop and have a risk from metal erosion where mainly occur at sprue, runner and gating area, which can caused defects in casting.
