| INOCAST 175 is universally recognised as a powerful and consistent inoculant that is suitable for use with both gray and ductile iron. HW5 is an inoculating alloy containing significant levels of Ba. Inocast 175 provides effective and long lasting inoculant.
Principal characteristics
INOCAST 175 is particularly suited to medium/thick section castings where sustained nucleation effect must be maintained throghout extended cooling and solidification times. Barium, in association with Calcium and Aluminium, strongly re-enforces the inoculating efficiency by minimising the under-cooling of the liquid iron and thereby avoiding the formation of hard eutectic carbides.
